Random Dogs is a collaboration of five diverse musicians based in Tel Aviv, Israel. The band, formed in 2011, is known in Israel for creating modern, energetic rock music with influences from both the American and British rock scene.
After releasing their debut EP, “Out of the Race”, in May 2014, the band gained international attention when they became the only non-American act to be invited to the DRIVEN MUSIC CONFERENCE in Atlanta, GA.
Upon their return to Israel the band’s success continued to rise as they were invited to join Israel’s version of THE VOICE (known in Israel as “The Rising Star”), and made the Top 15. Their unique vibe and high energy made a lasting impact on the audience and world renowned judges. The appearance brought more attention to the rock scene in Israel and garnered the band a 2015 tour of all major cities and venues in Israel.
With the completion of their tour and ever increasing fans around the world, Random Dogs started a crowd-funding campaign that quickly reached their $13,000 goal in order to fund their second and highly anticipated EP, Tell Yourself a New Story.
It was during this process that famous British musician Steven Wilson became a fan of Random Dogs and contacted his good friend John Mitchell, (producer for YouMeAtSix, the Architects, and Funeral for a Friend) to check the band out. This led Mr. Mitchell to invite the band to London, England’s OUTHOUSE STUDIOS to record their new album.
After an intense two week recording process the band returned to Israel where top sound engineer Guy Webb, (known for working with the world famous Infected Mushroom) perfected the album as well as had it mastered by Michael Fossenkemper of TurtleTone Studios in New York City.
The resulting five track EP, Tell Yourself a New Story, is itself the band’s energetic testimony of the past year’s journey into international recognition.
